Individual psychotherapy
Duration: 50 minutes Price: 90€ / Session
Psychotherapy, or individual therapy, is a process aimed at finding answers and solutions to various emotional and behavioral problems that may affect you at different points in your life. Individual therapy provides a space for interaction between the therapist (specialized psychologist) and the client, where feelings, beliefs, memories, or behaviors are explored through verbal and non-verbal dialogue.
Why seek this type of therapy?
The psychotherapeutic process is based on trust, safety, and confidentiality. In each session, you will be listened to, your freedom and uniqueness will be respected, without being criticized or judged. Among the reasons that lead most of us to seek therapy are the inability to cope with major challenges, childhood traumas, depression, anxiety, or simply the desire for a better understanding of oneself.
How does therapy proceed?
The first therapy session aims to collect information. The therapist will discuss with you your physical, psychological, and emotional state, as well as the motivation that led you to seek therapy.
The information-gathering process may extend over several sessions, allowing the therapist the time needed to choose the approach and strategy that best suits your needs.
It is also important for you to feel comfortable with the therapist’s style and to determine if it is suitable for your needs. Discuss the type of therapy you will be undergoing, the objectives, the duration of the sessions, and the number of sessions.
The therapist is the one who guides you in discussions by asking the right questions. Try to be as open and cooperative as possible; freely share your past or current experiences. Some sessions may provoke intense feelings, and this should not scare you or make you want to give up.
Depending on the topics discussed, the therapist may give you “assignments.” To make progress, take these assignments seriously.
Over time, individuals in therapy will develop certain skills, become more positive, and will be able to find solutions more easily.
How long should I undergo psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy does not have a fixed duration; it is determined based on each client’s unique needs and the goals of the therapy. It can take place over a few sessions or span several years.
